PROOF IS IN OUR CUSTOMERS
We have three v8 prerunners with the TE 3 Speed Race Auto in them and they've been great. I don't know how they'd hold up under race conditions.
I'm good friends with the owner here...full disclosure. I can vouch that his work is top notch based on the customers who've walked away happy and keep going back. He does custom transmissions for off-road vehicles and is an all-around great guy. You'll definitely leave as a friend.
Fortin wide gear 4 speed in our car. Haven't had any problems so far, it has been quite reliable. Support on this transmission has been great, we use Transaxle Engineering in Chatsworth,CA for all the service/prep. The high end transaxles are like trying to pick a shock brand, all have different advantages and disadvantages but that all depends on who you talk to and their experiences. Ones most people run are Albins, Fortin, Mendeola, and Transaxle Engineering's 3 Speed Auto. Good luck
